Manifesting: How It Started
An Intro to the Manifesting Process & the Magic that Can Unfold

TLDR: it starts with intention (how you want to feel), you have to take aligned action (the energetic that you are willing to become the person that FEELS that way), and ultimately you leave space for a little magic (for the outcome to be better than you could have imagined).
On January 1, 2013, I went to a yoga class. Sharing my blog about it at the time:
Every 21 Days I committed to doing something consistently that felt like an important step in becoming the best me! 21 Days of: gratitude, no taxis, not being late, running, CrossFit, clean eating, no shopping, biking, juicing, learning…the list goes on.
It was a year of experimenting, of following my intuition for what I needed to commit to, of honoring my commitment to myself (21 days at a time), of self-inquiry and tremendous growth. And what unfolded that year was pure magic! I became way more than my best self: I manifested a life beyond my wildest of my dreams!
I went on my first yoga retreat (Tulum!), I bought my NYC apartment, I met the sweetest of friends at Crossfit that would become my best friends (Tammy!), I PR’d at the Timberman Half Ironman (shaving 10 mins off of that 2011 time), I ran my FASTEST New York Marathon (shaving nearly an HOUR off of my 2004 running of the same race and my fastest marathon yet), I SIGNED UP AND RAN the Marathon du Medoc in France, I ran for an was elected for the Board of my building, I was in the best shape of my life, I excelled at work, the results of that year are astounding.
And the thing is: I didn’t set out to do any of those things. I just wanted to be the best me. And it turns out best-ME is better than I could have imagine.
Now I know more about the process that I dreamed up at the time. I know that it is backed by neuroscience, that habit stacking is powerful, that the process will help you tap into grit, that tying your “why” to how you want to feel is the secret magic, that manifesting just means that you leave space for the end result to be better than you imagined.
And so, as I step into my next 21 Days, as 2024-ME, I’m bringing you along on the journey. The process by now is just how I live my life, but it dawns on me that being visible in the pursuit (complete with the good, the bad, and the UGLY) could encourage you to do the same!
We are out here living our best life, and I believe that doing it ONE conscious commitment at a time can unleash the most tremendous magic, in my life and also in yours!
